Go Yercaud

Distance - 230 Kms from Bangalore

Day 1:
  • Start early in the morning from Bangalore (Around 6 AM) and take the Electronic city (Hosur Road) -->Krishnagiri --> Dharmapuri --> Salem.
  • From Salem take a diversion towards left and hit the Sri Sharada College road --> Yercaud road.
  • The drive is very awesome in the hairpin bends, in the mean time we have to be extra cautious as well.
  • There are totally 20 hairpin bends with a stretch of around 30 kms.
  • Once you reach Yercaud, the "Yercaud Lake" towards the right gives us a warm welcome which would be our 1st destination.
  • Enjoy the beauty of the lake by taking a "Boat ride" and feel the fresh breeze while we enjoy the beautiful view of nature.
  • Next lets head to a "Deer Park" which would be our 2nd destination.


  • Our 3rd destination would be the "Kiliyur Waterfallswhich is around 3 kms from the lake.

  • The roads are very narrow and we might find difficulties in taking the vehicles near the entrance.
  • From the entrance we have to walk for around 5-10 mins which is a bit inclined and post that we have to get down the stairs (Approx. 250 steps).
  • Then we will reach the waterfalls which makes a huge noise surrounded by nature.
  • We can enjoy the water fall by standing beneath the waterfall. Also we come across a wonderful mountains.
  • It would be difficult for few to get back to the entrance as we have to climb the steps and walk for few mins.
  • Lets return to the lake and visit "Anna parkwhich is near the lake and this would be our 4th destination.
  • We have our 5th destination right in front of Anna park which is called as the "Lake Park".
  • Next lets head towards "Lady's seat" (A view point from where we can see Salem) which would be our 6th destination
  • A little above we can find our 7th and 8th destination i.e. "Gent's seat" and "Children seat"
  • Now lets return on the same way back and we can see our 9th destination which would be the "Rose Gardenwhich is a beautiful garden with roses and a huge garden.
  • Next lets move to out 10th destination which would be "Montfort School" (Very reputed convent which can be viewed from outside) and "Titch square" (its just a junction).
  • Lets travel towards the "Pagoda Point(we can see the beautiful landscape from the top of the hill as well as the view of Salem city from the top - The night view is awesome as well) is our 11th destination.
  • I think we have traveled a lot for the day, lets head to our hotels or resorts and have a pleasant stay enjoying the chill weather (We can get the local food near the lake). 
Day 2:


  • Lets start our day 2 with a local breakfast (Preferred location for breakfast is near the lake park junction)
  • After the breakfast lets head to our 12th destination which would be the "Botanical Garden"
  • Lets start visiting few temples starting with "Rajarajeshwari Templewhich would be our 13th destination.
  • Our 14th destination would be "Shevroy Hills/Temple" where we would be able to visit a temple and we can enjoy the nature.
  • Lets head to our 15th destination which would be "Sri Chakra Mahameru Templewhich houses the worlds largest Sri Chakra Mahameru.
  • Our 16th destination would be "Karadiyur View point" which is very beautiful view point and we would be able to see Mettur Dam from a very long distance.

  • By this we can end our Yercaud trip. 
People who need to stay back and relax can do so, else can head back to your respective places.

Dudhsagar (Dudh - Milk; Sagar:Sea) is also called as sea of milk which is located on Mondovi river and it is one of the largest waterfalls in India. We should visit this waterfalls during monsoon to enjoy for the fullest. The waterfall in in the border of Karnataka and Goa.

There are few shops near the falls where we can get something light to eat and drink. Also there is a lower part of the falls where we can enjoy playing in water (When the flow is less).











There are 2 routes to reach the falls:
  • Reach Castle rock (Karnataka)railway station, park vehicles and then reach the falls - You can either trek (Around 10 Kms) and reach the waterfalls or we can get into the train and get down at Dudhsagar falls. There is no platform and the visitors should get down using steep ladder and the train may stop for 1-2 minutes. There is also a bike service available where the bikers take the visitors to the falls.
  • Reach Colum (Goa) railway station, park vehicles and then reach the falls - You can either trek (Around 10 Kms) and reach the waterfalls or we can get into the train and get down at Dudhsagar falls. There is no platform and the visitors should get down using steep ladder and the train may stop for 1-2 minutes. There is also a bike service available where the bikers take the visitors to the falls.

It will be good to trek because we come across lot of tunnels and we can enjoy the natural beauty. Preferred to trek early morning so that we do not get much tired.

Shettihalli Church

Best time to visit - Anytime (Church will be submerged during monsoon)

 Shettihalli Church
                      Shettihalli church is around 25 kms away from Hassan and near Shettihalli village. The church near Gorur-Hemavathi reservoir. The church  was built by French and after the construction of the Dam and reservoir the Church was abandoned.

This place has became a great tourist attraction and many tourists will visit during monsoon to see the half submerged church.

From Bangalore we have to take the Mangalore Highway, Bangalore-> Kunigal -> Yadiyur -> Chanraypatna -> Hassan -> Shettihalli.

If you are planning to visit this place then get some stuff along with you to eat and drink because there are no restaurants or hotels nearby.

Savandurga

Start from Bangalore and hit Bangalore Mysore Highway -> Cross Kengeri -> Cross Kumbalagodu -> Take a diversion towards right at Hejjala Cross. Move towards Manchanabele reservoir, cross the reservoir and then reach Sri Savandi Veerabhadraswamy temple (Which is situated at the foot of Savandurga hills).

There are many worshipers in the southern part of Karnataka who visits the temple regularly.

Savandurga is the largest monolith in Asia. It is one of the most exciting trek which can be completed within half day.


We can see some beautiful carvings inside this.

There are multiple ways or paths to trek/climb the hill. Multiple adventure companies or organizations conduct multiple events.


Once we reach the top of the hill, we can see and experience the wonderful view of nature.

Once we are done with the trek we can head towards manchanabele reservoir. There are lot of water activities or water sports which we can experience here.

Now lets head back to Bangalore and end our day.

Pyramid Valley (A day out in Bangalore)

Lets head towards Kanakapura road from Bangalore. Go towards Kaggalipura -> Vaderahalli ->Kaggalahalli and reach Gabadi bus stop. Move a bit further and you can see "Safa Honeyco." towards your left. Take a left after it and if you travel for about 2 kms you will reach your destination.

First mega Pyramid built in the world solely for meditation. We can meditate inside the Pyramid which will make us feel calm and relaxed. They also conduct several spiritual workshops, relaxing and rejuvenating sessions, treatments and much more. We can enter the pyramid and go to the top from inside and meditate, there are some nice arrangements made for meditations. Also there is a gallery and if you want to buy something then you can purchase it from there.







There is a food court which is maintained well. There is a small lake and few beautiful places which make us feel relaxed.
